Listed below are several questions that we get frequently.
How do I sign up for the school?
Sign up must be done by phone. It is very important to us that we talk with you about your experience with horses, and what it is you wish to gain from attending our school.
In order for you to be enrolled into the school, you must go through an interview process. You will begin with a phone interview. Your application will then be reviewed. To conclude, you will be contacted via phone call or email regarding your results.
You can reach us at 606-303-0467.
Is this a dude ranch or vacation spot?
NO. Dry Creek Wrangler School is designed to assist people who are serious and dedicated to expanding their horsemanship as well as diving into the life style of a cowboy, packer or wrangler. Conditions are slightly primitive and are not intended for comfort and ease… there maybe long hot days, rain or shine. From the words of Dewayne, “You are here to learn to cater to other people, not to be catered to.”
Do I have to have much experience with horses to enroll in the school?
No experience is required to attend the school. The classes are kept very small so that we can meet everybody at their own personal level.
Do I need to bring my own horse?
We strongly encourage students to bring their own horse. Our classes are limited to three students who bring their horse and two students that do not.
If I have to cancel, will I get my deposit back?
Deposits are non-refundable, though we will do everything we can to help you reschedule your trip.
Do I have to be 18 to enroll?
If you are between the ages of 12-17 with a legal guardian also enrolled in the school at the same time, you can attend. If you are under the age of 18 but want to attend without a parent or guardian, please call us to discuss the options. We love to see young people interested in and pursuing a better relationship with their horse, and we have a strong desire to encourage that and be a help to anyone we can.
Where is the school located?
Dry Creek Wrangler School is located in Liberty, Kentucky.
How is the best way to travel to the school?
You are responsible for your own transportation to and from the ranch. The closest airports are in Louisville, Kentucky or Nashville, Tennessee. Once you are enrolled into the school, you will receive a physical address
Does Dry Creek Wrangler School have any restrictions for students attending the school?
There may be restrictions such as weight or health concerns, this is one reason it is important to us that we communicate with you personally over the phone. We do have a strict weight limit of 220 lbs. We strive for safety for each of our students and of our horses, and we do our best to make sure everyone is safe and comfortable.
